Toronto, Canada -- The 10th Annual NYJAC Golf Classic was held in Toronto Canada August 2nd, 2013 thru August 4th, 2013. The Canadians fielded two teams while the other regions each fielded one team.

Day1 ended with Canada's Team A atop the leader board with 124.06 points followed by Atlanta with a distant 130.29 points and Canada Team B with 137.14 points.

Day2 ended with Canada Team A still atop the leader board with an overall total of 252.06 points. Canada Team B moved into the second spot with an overall total of 265.14. Atlanta was now 3rd with a total of 268.29. The Canadians seemed poised to make history to be the first region in the history of NYJAC to capture the Championship and  the runner-up position.

Day3 dawned with Atlanta, Jamaica and New York facing the seemingly insurmountable lead which Canada had amassed but yet were determined to give it their best. It was not to be. Canada Team A ended the Tournament with an impressive 566.95 points followed by Canada Team B with 590.15 points.

The rest of the NYJAC family congratulates Canada on their victory.  As usual, we all had a fantastic time both on and off the golf course. Thanks to everyone for the gracious hospitality afforded us. We all look forward to seeing you in New York in 2014.



Hope Scholarship News

Kingston, Jamaica -- On Friday October 4th, 2013, the 1st annual Hope Scholarship Award Ceremony was held in Kingston, Jamaica at Lillian's restaurant at UTECH. The successful candidate was Kennardo Barrett, a 2nd year Electrical Engineering student .

The award was presented by Dr. Errol Duncan, the CEO of NYJAC. The breakfast ceremony was attended by members of the faculty and other members of NYJAC along with family and friends.


The awardee, Mr. Kennardo Barrett
's most eloquent acceptance speech was greeted with applause and well wishes from all.
