2014 NYJAC Hope Scholarship Award Ceremony

The second annual NYJAC Hope Scholarship has been awarded to Michael A. Wilson, a 2nd year Science & Education student at UTECH.
The award was presented by NYJAC's CEO, Dr. Errol Duncan at a ceremony held at the Constant Spring Golf Club .
The ceremony was well attended by the University Administration and the Jamaican NYJAC membership. The acting President for the University the Hon. Burchell Whiteman was scheduled to address the gathering but was unable to attend. He was represented by Mrs. Garcia Green- McLennon, Director of Student Financing, who had words of encouragement and praise for what NYJAC was doing.
The highlights of the afternoon were the keynote address by the Guest speaker Mr. Livingstone Morrison Deputy Governor of The Bank of Jamaica, and the brief address from Mr. Wilson. Livingstone delivered a timely message to the recipient that it does not matter how humble a background you may have, one can achieve great things through hard work and perseverance.
